Mahindra has opened a 12,000-square-foot training centre in Kolkata's New Town automotive hub. This new facility called the Mahindra Institute of Learning Excellence (MILE), will help improve services in East and North-East India. It will train channel partners, distributors, and fleet owners on vehicle maintenance and repair.
The center can train over 100 people at once and has five demonstration bays for hands-on learning. It also focuses on electric vehicle servicing, with special training for Mahindra’s Electric Origin SUVs and the INGLO electric architecture.
The training will cover important topics like battery technology, advanced diagnostics, collision repair, and engine and transmission overhauls. It also includes specialized training for BS6 and 6.2 compliance standards, as well as electronically assisted transmissions.
A company representative said, "This expansion reflects our commitment to technical excellence and customer-centric solutions." The center, located in Kolkata’s automotive district, is easily accessible for service personnel across the region.
This move shows Mahindra's response to India's changing automotive market, especially the rise of electric vehicles. By preparing its service network for both traditional and electric powertrains, Mahindra aims to offer reliable after-sales support for all its vehicles.
