The first cybersecurity audit for AMTC's electric buses has been completed by GlobalLogic and ISSPL, covering key digital systems and aligning with international standards to enhance passenger safety and operational resilience.

The audit covered buses connected to an Intelligent Transport Management System (ITMS). This system includes automatic run-kilometre calculations for operator payments, GPS-based Automatic Vehicle Location Systems (AVLS), Passenger Information Systems (PIS), and CCTV surveillance. The integration of vehicle systems and backend platforms made a structured cybersecurity assessment necessary.
The assessment included in-car networks, firmware, CCTV, mobile NVR (mNVR) devices, ITS modules, PIS and LED display systems, panic button mechanisms, RPAS components, APIs, online portals, and data storage infrastructure. The team used gray-box penetration testing in line with ISO/SAE 21434 standards, AIS-189 guidelines, and UN R155 Annex 5 threat scenarios.
On February 13, 2026, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel inaugurated the newly protected fleet. He emphasized the importance of cybersecurity in public transport as vehicles become more digital and connected. Patel stated that integrating strong cybersecurity frameworks is essential to protect passenger safety, ensure operational reliability, and build citizen trust.
GlobalLogic's Group Vice President, Piyush Jha, highlighted the company's commitment to digital resilience in mobility. He said that identifying and addressing cyber risks helps create secure and dependable transport systems. Shashi Nath Mishra, Chief Operating Officer at ISSPL, noted that cybersecurity assurance must go beyond mechanical performance. He stressed the importance of validating the integrity of vehicle electronics, control systems, and data flows.
This cybersecurity initiative aligns with international automotive standards and demonstrates a proactive approach to risk management. The project sets a benchmark for evaluating and certifying electric and intelligent fleets in India. As public transport systems adopt more digital technologies, structured cybersecurity validation will become increasingly vital for safety and operational continuity.
GlobalLogic has played a leading role in digital transformation since 2000. The company focuses on combining experience design, engineering, AI, and data expertise to support clients' transitions into AI-driven operations. Through such initiatives, GlobalLogic aims to foster innovation and help build sustainable, secure public infrastructure.
