As per Switch Mobility, the E1 is the lightest electric bus on the market. The E1 was unveiled on June 7, 2022, at the European Mobility Expo in Paris, France, at the Expo Porte de Versailles. The Switch E1 is a low-floor single-decker electric bus manufactured by Switch Mobility. The E1 is Switch Mobility's first vehicle since their rebranding from Optare, and it replaces the discontinued Optare Tempo SR and Optare Versa in their product line. The interior has a modular design that is highly customizable.
