Tata Power Renewable Energy and Tata Motors are taking a big step toward supporting electric commercial vehicles (CVs) in India. Together, they will set up 200 fast-charging stations across major metro cities, making it easier for small electric CV drivers to find reliable chargers.
The new fast-charging stations will be located in important cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Bengaluru, and Kolkata. This is part of Tata's larger plan to boost electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure across India. The goal is to have nearly 1,000 fast chargers available in the near future, making it more convenient for electric CV owners to charge their vehicles.
Drivers using Tata Motor’s electric CVs will enjoy special charging tariffs, which means they can charge their vehicles at a lower cost. This will help them reduce their operating expenses and increase their overall profits.
Tata Power’s EV charging network, called EZ Charge, is already one of the largest in the country. It has more than 100,000 home chargers and 5,500 public and fleet charging points. In addition, there are over 1,100 bus charging stations spread across 530 cities and towns. These charging points are located at convenient spots like highways, malls, hotels, and hospitals, ensuring easy access for drivers.
The Tata Motors Ace EV, a popular electric CV, is equipped with advanced technology, including a battery management system and Fleet Edge telematics. These features give real-time data on vehicle health, location, and driver behavior, making the vehicle safer and more efficient on the road.
Tata Motors also has over 150 Electric Vehicle Service Centres across the country to provide after-sales support to electric CV users. This ensures that drivers get the help they need to keep their vehicles in top condition.
This partnership between Tata Power and Tata Motors is a major boost for India’s growing electric vehicle industry, helping make the shift to sustainable transportation easier and more cost-effective for businesses and drivers alike.
