Tata Motors, India's largest commercial vehicle manufacturer, announced the opening of a new spare parts warehouse in Guwahati. The facility covers 1 lakh square feet and stores spare parts for the whole commercial vehicle range. The facility is designed to be digital. The new facility would allow the company to achieve faster turnaround times and greater availability of spares at Tata-authorized service stations in the North East.
Tata Motors has teamed up with Delhivery to utilize its technology-enabled storage and transportation solutions. Delhivery is a leading integrated logistics services provider. The facility also features cutting-edge storage technologies that suit to a variety of applications, such as gravity spiral and vertical reciprocating conveyors. In addition, a specialized space for processing medium and heavy vehicle body parts has been integrated to facilitate smooth operations.
Vikram Agarwal, Head - Spares and Non-Vehicular Business, Tata Motors Commercial Vehicles, stated, "The opening of the new warehouse in Guwahati demonstrates Tata Motors' customer-centric approach and will improve the vehicle ownership experience by ensuring easy availability of spares. The new warehouse will enable smarter inventory management at Tata Authorized Service Stations throughout the region, improving service quality and vehicle uptime. This new facility brings us closer to our consumers in the rapidly expanding North East region, improving logistics efficiency."
Tata Motors provides a diverse variety of sub-1-tonne to 55-tonne cargo vehicles and 10-seater to 51-seater mass mobility solutions, including small commercial vehicles, pickup trucks, and buses, to meet the changing needs of the logistics and mass mobility sectors. The organization has a wide network of over 2500 touchpoints.
