Tata Motors debuts its first Euro VI bus in Qatar, alongside new Prima trucks, strengthening its commercial vehicle presence in the Middle East.

Tata Motors introduced its newest Euro VI-compliant bus model, the LPO 1622, in Qatar via Al Hamad Automobiles, the company’s official distributor there. This new bus is specially designed for transporting staff.
Euro VI-Compliant LPO 1622 Bus Debuts
The LPO 1622 features a powerful Cummins ISBe 5.6L engine. This engine meets Euro VI emission standards and delivers 220 horsepower and 925 Nm torque. The bus comes in two variants with seating capacities of 61 and 65 passengers. It is equipped with safety features like dual-circuit air brakes with ABS, Electronic Stability Control, Hill Start Assist, and Cruise Control.
Focus on Qatar and the Region
Asif Shamim, Head of International Business at Tata Motors Commercial Vehicles, said the Middle East continues to be an important market. He mentioned that the company sees Qatar as a key hub for expanding its commercial vehicle business.
Strong Local Partnership
Mohamed Yousef Al Mana, Chairman of Al Hamad Automobiles, highlighted the strong relationship between the two companies. He confirmed that Al Hamad will provide full after-sales support, including service and spare parts, across Qatar.
New Prima Range of Trucks Introduced
Along with the bus, Tata Motors also introduced its updated Prima series of heavy-duty trucks. The new range includes the Prima 4040.K, 4440.S, 4040.T, and 6040.S models. These are Euro V-compliant and are mainly aimed at Qatar’s construction and infrastructure needs.
