SML Isuzu Limited has announced its sales report for September 2025, showing a decline in monthly sales but strong overall growth for the April–September period of the current fiscal year.
The commercial vehicle manufacturer sold 950 units in September 2025, down 10% from 1,055 units in September 2024. The decline was visible in both cargo and passenger vehicle segments, reflecting weak demand and challenging market conditions.
Cargo vehicles: Sales dropped to 370 units in September 2025, down 9% from 407 units in September 2024. This segment is highly dependent on freight movement and overall economic activity.
Passenger vehicles: Sales declined to 580 units in September 2025, a 10% fall compared to 648 units in September 2024. This drop highlights rising competition in the light commercial passenger market.
Despite the September drop, SML Isuzu reported a 7% sales growth in the first half of FY2025-26. The company sold 8,145 units between April and September 2025, compared to 7,627 units in the same period last year.
Cargo vehicles: Strong demand helped this segment record 2,422 units sold, up 29% from 1,879 units in April–September 2024. The growth was mainly supported by increasing needs in logistics and goods transportation.
Passenger vehicles: This segment remained stable with 5,723 units sold during April–September 2025, slightly lower than 5,748 units in the same period last year, showing only a 0.4% decline.

While September 2025 was a weak month for SML Isuzu due to lower sales in both cargo and passenger vehicles, the company managed to show positive growth of 7% in half-yearly sales. The strong demand for cargo vehicles offset the slight decline in passenger vehicles, indicating that SML Isuzu continues to hold a steady position in the commercial vehicle market despite short-term challenges.
