The Indian agriculture sector is preparing for a big change with the launch of the 'Vikasit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan 2025' (Developed Agriculture Resolution Campaign 2025). Led by Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, this campaign will start on 29 May 2025 from Puri, Odisha, and continue across more than 700 districts till 12 June 2025.

This national-level campaign aims to bring scientific knowledge, modern farming techniques, and government scheme information directly to farmers. It will help make Indian agriculture more productive, sustainable, and self-reliant.

Aim of the Developed Agriculture Resolution Campaign

The main goal of this campaign is to educate farmers on:

  • Latest farming technologies

  • Use of improved seeds

  • Balanced use of fertilizers

  • Crop varieties that can survive climate change

  • Better crop management techniques

Through this initiative, the government aims to reach out to 1.5 crore farmers across India.

Special Features of the Campaign

  • 731 Krishi Vigyan Kendras and 113 ICAR institutes will actively participate.

  • Each district will host three major meetings involving scientists, officials, and progressive farmers.

  • Farmers will be able to interact directly with scientists to get their doubts cleared.

  • Mobile soil testing labs will help farmers understand their soil quality.

  • Farmers will get details about climate-resilient crop varieties.

  • Information about central government schemes and their benefits will be shared.

Role of Scientists in the Campaign

Around 3,100 agricultural scientists have been trained as master trainers. Their role will be:

  • Guiding farmers about improved seeds and fertilizers

  • Sharing knowledge on scientific farming practices

  • Supporting farmers with soil testing information

These scientists are expected to play a vital role in increasing productivity and reducing input costs for farmers.

Union Agriculture Minister's Address to Scientists

In preparation for the campaign, Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhanaddressed scientists at the NASC Complex, New Delhi. During his speech, he said:

My life is dedicated to serving farmers, increasing agricultural production, and reducing farming costs. We aim to ensure food security, protect future generations, and make India’s food reserves stronger.”

He stressed the importance of using quality seeds, balanced fertilizers, and local research insights. He also highlighted the need for better coordination between scientists, officials, and farmers, calling it a missing link that this campaign aims to reconnect.

Focus on Research and Global Recognition

The minister assured that there will be no shortage of funds for agriculture research and innovation. He believes that the results of this campaign will be visible from the upcoming Kharif season itself.

He encouraged Indian scientists to show their capabilities on global platforms and expressed confidence that India's agricultural research institutions can gain international recognition. He praised the dedication of the scientists and said that India will always remain grateful to them after the success of this campaign.
