Michele Colaninno, the CEO of Piaggio Group, has been re-elected for a second term as President of ACEM (Association des Constructeurs Européens de Motocycles).
Colaninno's Vision for the Industry
Colaninno noted that 2024 would be a crucial year due to significant geopolitical events, such as elections in Europe, the USA, and India. He believes these events will shape political and commercial stability for the coming decades.
Colaninno highlighted the fast-changing market and urban environments, emphasizing the evolution of mobility. He pointed out that this shift presents both challenges and opportunities for the industry.
"Sustainability, connectivity, safety, and competitiveness are the key points of our agenda and the ACEM Manifesto," he said.
He added, "Transport and mobility are crucial for development and quality of life. Scooters and motorcycles provide various solutions to meet society's evolving needs in both urban and rural areas."

ACEM is the European motorcycle industry association based in Brussels, with membership including all major global motorcycle and scooter groups.
Michele Colaninno's Roles
Apart from his role at Piaggio Group, Michele Colaninno is also the CEO and Chief Operating Officer of the Immsi Group. This industrial holding company, listed on the Milan Stock Exchange, operates in the financial, real estate, and industrial sectors, generating revenues of over 2 billion euros.
New Vice-Presidents of ACEM
Colaninno's re-election as ACEM President coincides with a restructuring of the association. ACEM has appointed three new Vice-Presidents: Stefan Pierer (CEO of KTM AG), Markus Flasch (CEO of BMW Motorrad), and Vito Cicchetti (Branch President of Honda Motor Europe Ltd.).
