Why the Deadline Was Extended?

According to Women and Child Development Minister Aditi Tatkare, more than 1.10 crore women were unable to complete their e-KYC due to:

  • Server and technical errors

  • Network issues in rural areas

  • Natural disasters are affecting several districts

  • Difficulty in accessing online services on time

Considering these challenges, the government extended the deadline, allowing women more time to verify their details without stress.

Who Must Do e-KYC Themselves?

The government has introduced an important rule change:

Women whose husbands or fathers have passed away, or who are divorced, must complete their own e-KYC personally.

They must also submit:

  • Death certificate of husband/father

  • Divorce certificate or court order

These documents must be submitted to the district Women and Child Development Officer.

This step ensures transparency and stability in the scheme.
