Farmers who register on the ‘Meri Fasal-Mera Byora’ portal can avail themselves of the drone-based spraying service and also apply for nano urea.

In a bid to modernize agriculture, the Haryana government has launched a drone-based nano urea spraying initiative. This move is designed to streamline the traditionally labour-intensive task of crop fertilization, making it more efficient and farmer-friendly.

Portal Registration and Farmer Engagement

The ‘Meri Fasal-Mera Byora’ portal serves as the gateway to this advanced technology, allowing farmers to register and avail themselves of the benefits of drone-based nano urea spraying. As of August 2023, a remarkable 8.87 lakh farmers have registered for the Kharif crop, spanning over 60 lakh acres of land.

To join this initiative, farmers need to pay a nominal fee of ₹100 per acre. The process can be completed via the ‘Meri Fasal-Mera Byora’ portal using a mobile device or at a common service centre.

Availability of Drones for Nano Urea Spraying in Every District

The Haryana government has ensured the availability of drones equipped for nano urea spraying in every district, making this innovative farming technique accessible to all. The aim is to empower farmers by simplifying the application of nano urea, thereby boosting agricultural productivity.

Application for Nano Urea: A Straightforward Process

Farmers who register on the ‘Meri Fasal-Mera Byora’ portal can access the drone-based spraying service and also apply for nano urea. During registration, farmers are required to submit their online applications for drone-based urea spraying and pay the nominal fee of ₹100 per acre.

Leading Role of the Agriculture Department

The Haryana Agriculture Department is spearheading this initiative to ensure maximum reach among farmers. Department officers are actively spreading awareness in every village, informing farmers about the benefits of drone-based urea spraying and the superiority of nano urea over traditional fertilizers.

Drone Efficiency and Capacity

A key feature of this initiative is the efficiency and capacity of the drones used. A single drone can carry up to 10 litres of liquid urea. This contemporary method of pesticide spraying not only saves time but also improves the precision of fertilizer application.

Expanded Coverage for Farmers

With the help of drones, a farmer can cover an impressive 20 to 25 acres of land in a single day. This extensive coverage significantly speeds up the fertilization process, enabling farmers to manage larger areas of their fields with ease. The incorporation of drone technology in agriculture is set to usher in a new era of efficient and streamlined farming practices.

The launch of drone-based nano urea spraying signifies a major advancement towards a technologically sophisticated and efficient agricultural landscape in Haryana. By harnessing modern technology, the state aims to empower its farmers, enhance productivity, and contribute to the overall growth of the farming sector.

As farmers adopt this innovative method, the Haryana government’s commitment to supporting and improving farming practices is clearly visible. The drone-based spraying of nano urea is not merely a technological enhancement; it is a reflection of the state’s commitment to sustainable, efficient, and farmer-centric agriculture.
