GLIDA, a public EV Charge Point Operator (previously Fortum Charge & Drive India), has announced the opening of its largest electric vehicle charging hub in Hyderabad, with 102 charge points.
The hub has a 200KW Ultrafast charger with six satellite dispensers, 28 60KW CCS2 dual gun DC charges, 8 30KW CCS2 dual gun DC chargers, 20 Type-2 7.4KW AC chargers, and two NDC001 dual gun chargers. At onetime, 102 automobiles can be charged at this hub.
Jayesh Ranjan, IAS, Special Chief Secretary for Information Technology, Electronics & Communications (ITE&C) and Industries & Commerce Departments, Government of Telangana, inaugurated the GLIDA EV Charging Hub in Shamshabad near Hyderabad International Airport.
Jayesh Ranjan stated, "We feel that a charging station of this size will instil a fresh wave of trust in users, encouraging them to buy electric vehicles. This is the decade of electric mobility, not just in Telangana but internationally. Electric vehicles can address a variety of difficulties specific to our fast-growing country, ultimately leading to more sustainable living for our population through improved air quality."
He continued, "I am glad to acknowledge GLIDA's efforts and accomplishments in increasing awareness, promoting electric vehicles, and assisting our country's transition to sustainable transportation. GLIDA's efforts to identify opportunities and construct future-focused infrastructure demonstrate its foresight in fulfilling future needs."
Awadhesh K Jha, Executive Director of GLIDA, commented on the hub's inauguration, saying, "Today is a huge milestone for GLIDA as we inaugurate our largest EV charge Hub with 102 charge outlets in Hyderabad. Hyderabad has always been a city of firsts for us; on July 7, 2018, we opened our first fast public EV charging station in conjunction with IOCL."
He went on to say, "Looking back on our journey, we thank the Government of Telangana; Shri Jayesh Ranjan, IAS, Special Chief Secretary, early EV adopters, EV fleet operators like Hail Cab, OHM Mobility, and our partners like Exicom, Statiq for their continued trust and support. Recent Developments
Recently, GLIDA also commissioned a 200 KW superfast Kempower charger with six satellite charging points at DLF Cyber Park, Gurugram, strengthening its partnership with DLF.
