Fleet to expand to 200 trucks soon.
Supports India’s sustainable logistics mission.
Flytta has launched India’s first retrofitted 13-ton payload capacity electric truck, specifically designed for transporting cement bags across challenging ghat roads and industrial terrains. This innovative truck has been custom-developed by Kalyani Powertrain Limited (KPTL), the electric mobility arm of the Kalyani Group, and is currently being deployed by Dalmia Cement along the Yadwad–Goa corridor.
This collaboration marks a major step toward reducing carbon emissions in industrial logistics. The project combines Flytta’s logistics expertise, Kalyani’s EV engineering strength, and Dalmia Cement’s commitment to sustainable manufacturing and transport. Together, they aim to set a new benchmark for industrial decarbonization in India.
Industry-first fleet: Flytta has started operations with an initial fleet, with plans to deploy nearly 200 retrofitted EV trucks soon.
Heavy-duty EV platform: The company now offers EV trucks, dumpers, and trailers with payload capacities ranging from 13 to 40 tons, catering to sectors like cement, steel, coal, metals, and minerals.
Engineered for rough terrains: The new EV truck is built to handle heavy payloads and demanding industrial road conditions efficiently.
Supporting decarbonization: The initiative aligns with India’s green mobility goals, promoting sustainable industrial transport and reduced emissions.
Rahul Kanuganti, CEO of Flytta, said, “This launch is a defining moment for Flytta and for the logistics sector. By collaborating with Kalyani Powertrain and Dalmia Cement, we are showing how industrial transport can rapidly shift to sustainable solutions without compromising efficiency. Our vision is to build a green logistics backbone for India’s growth, and this is a major step toward that goal.”
Pankaj Sonalkar, Managing Director, Kalyani Powertrain Limited, said, “We are proud to partner with Flytta and Dalmia Cement on this industry-first initiative. At KPTL, we have engineered a rugged, high-performance retrofitted EV truck that can handle the heavy payloads and demanding conditions of the cement sector. This project shows how advanced retrofitting can accelerate India’s transition to clean mobility.”
Srawan Agarwal, Assistant Executive Director of Logistics, Dalmia Cement, said, “At Dalmia Cement, sustainability is at the core of our operations. Working with Flytta and Kalyani Powertrain, we are excited to be among the first in India to adopt retrofitted EV trucks for our logistics. The use of EVs in industrial transport is vital for reducing emissions and supporting India’s energy self-sufficiency. For this transition to grow, improved infrastructure and proactive government support for EV charging are essential.”
The launch of Flytta’s retrofitted electric truck highlights how collaboration between industry and EV innovators can drive large-scale adoption of sustainable logistics. As Flytta expands its medium and heavy-duty EV fleet, it is set to play a leading role in transforming India’s industrial transport network, making it both eco-friendly and cost-efficient.
Flytta’s 13-ton retrofitted EV truck marks a revolutionary step in India’s green logistics journey. With strong partnerships with Kalyani Powertrain and Dalmia Cement, the initiative showcases how sustainable innovation can power industrial growth. As deployment scales up, this project is expected to significantly cut emissions and boost cleaner industrial transport solutions across the country.
