DEG – Deutsche Investitions- und Entwicklungsgesellschaft has announced a long-term loan of €30 million to JK Tyre & Industries Ltd (JKTIL), a key player under the JK Organisation. The funding aims to support the sustainable expansion of production capacities at JK Tyre’s facility in Madhya Pradesh, India.

Strengthening Long-Term Partnership

Joachim Schumacher, a member of the DEG Management Board, highlighted the long-standing partnership with JK Organisation. He expressed confidence in the tyre division’s commitment to transformation, aligning with global environmental and climate goals, including substantial carbon emissions reduction.

Focus on Passenger Car Radial Tyres

Dr. Raghupati Singhania, Chairman and Managing Director of JK Tyre & Industries, outlined the allocation of the €30 million loan towards a Passenger Car Radial (PCR) tyre expansion project. This project, estimated at €114 million, aims to strengthen JK Tyre’s position in the PCR segment while promoting economic and social development in India.

Commitment to Sustainability

JK Tyre is intensifying efforts to integrate sustainability into its operations. Currently, 40% of the company’s energy needs are met through self-generated green electricity. 

The company has also been recognised among the top three globally for low energy consumption. Plans are underway to adopt biomass boilers to replace coal at the expanded facility and develop tyres from recycled materials.

DEG continues to align its strategy with sustainable transformation by offering solutions focused on responsible resource utilisation. It also provides resource efficiency assessments to help companies adopt environmentally responsible practices.
